Dhurandhar 2 is all set for release with premieres starting tonight, and the film is already creating unprecedented records in advance bookings for a Bollywood film.
As of March 18, 10 AM IST, the advance booking numbers are at a sensational level.
India Premiere and Day 1 Bookings
In India, premiere advance bookings stand at ₹43 Cr, while day 1 advance sales are at ₹35 Cr, taking the total India opening day advance gross to ₹78 Cr.
Overseas numbers are equally strong, with the film registering around $4 million in opening day advance bookings.
With this, the total worldwide advance bookings have already crossed the ₹115 Cr mark, setting a new benchmark for Bollywood pre-sales.
Targeting Jawan’s Opening Day Record
Currently, Jawan holds the record for the biggest Bollywood opening with around ₹129 Cr worldwide gross on day one. However, Dhurandhar 2 is now within striking distance of that record even before the first show begins.
With around 8 hours still left for premieres to start and bookings continuing at a phenomenal pace, the film has a strong chance to challenge and even surpass existing opening day records before release.
Historic ₹100 Cr+ India Opening on Cards
The film is now expected to register the first-ever ₹100 Cr opening in India for a Bollywood film, and at the same time, it is targeting the first-ever ₹150 Cr worldwide opening.
If the current momentum continues, Dhurandhar 2 has the potential to cross ₹175 Cr worldwide gross on its opening day, with further upside depending on the word of mouth from initial shows.
